Dr. Hammad M. Cheema is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at NUST-SEECS. He is working with Xcelerium Inc. and established the NUST Chip Design Centre, Islamabad to enhance the semiconductor talent pool in Pakistan and promote fabless chip-design research & development. He has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience in Analog & RF Integrated Circuit Design, having published books on 60GHz CMOS PLLs and On-Chip Antennas, more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and 12 granted / pending patents. He is the recipient of the University Best Teacher Award, numerous national & international entrepreneurial awards and R&D grants of more than Rs 1 Billion.

For the NCTL programme, Dr. Hammad Cheema facilitates two key sub-themes: Assessment Methodologies at NUST and Effective Feedback Practices. Drawing on his extensive academic experience, he provides participants with practical guidance on designing fair and meaningful assessments, highlights the dos and don’ts of effective assessment practices, and explores the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) from both student and faculty perspectives.

In the module on feedback, Dr Cheema emphasizes the qualities and practices of an effective educator, demonstrating how adopting a learner-centred, reflective, and supportive teaching approach naturally fosters constructive and impactful feedback. His sessions encourage faculty to view feedback as an integral part of the teaching and learning process, promoting continuous improvement and student success.
