Afghan Capacity Building Program
As part of our commitment to advancing higher education through international collaboration, HRD organized a two-week intensive Capacity Building Program for 30 faculty members from universities across Afghanistan. The program brought together academics from diverse disciplines to strengthen institutional capacity, promote professional excellence, and facilitate the exchange of best practices in higher education.
The comprehensive training was designed to address both the academic and administrative dimensions of university education. Participants attended interactive workshops on modern teaching methodologies, curriculum development, student-centered learning, assessment techniques, academic research, research methodology, scholarly writing, and innovation in higher education. Alongside these sessions, faculty members also explored key administrative areas, including academic governance, quality assurance, strategic planning, leadership, policy implementation, and effective university management.
The program emphasized experiential learning through practical activities, group discussions, case studies, and collaborative problem-solving exercises, enabling participants to apply newly acquired knowledge to real-world institutional challenges.
In addition to the academic sessions, participants engaged in networking, cultural activities, and institutional visits that fostered collaboration, intercultural understanding, and the development of long-term professional relationships.
The Afghan Faculty Capacity Building Program reflects our dedication to empowering educators, strengthening higher education institutions, and fostering international academic partnerships that contribute to sustainable educational development across the region.
To complement the academic experience, the programme also included educational visits, cultural excursions, and recreational activities. These engagements provided participants with opportunities to experience Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, strengthen professional networks, and foster meaningful cross-cultural exchange. The informal interactions encouraged collaboration, mutual understanding, and the sharing of experiences among educators from diverse academic backgrounds.
The Afghan Capacity Building Programme reflects NUST’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, regional cooperation, and knowledge sharing. By empowering educators with contemporary skills, global perspectives, and practical tools, the programme contributes to strengthening higher education institutions and building lasting partnerships that extend beyond national boundaries.
