Certified Health Profession Education (CHPE)
The Certified Health Professions Education (CHPE) is a flagship faculty development programme initiated by the Human Resource Directorate to strengthen excellence in medical education and enhance the teaching competencies of healthcare professionals. Designed as a comprehensive six-month certification programme, CHPE equips medical faculty with contemporary knowledge and practical skills in teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum development, educational leadership, and research methodologies, enabling them to deliver high-quality medical education aligned with international standards.
The programme brings together distinguished national and international experts in health professions education who share evidence-based teaching strategies, innovative instructional approaches, and best practices in educational research. Through interactive workshops, practical assignments, reflective learning, and collaborative discussions, participants gain the competencies required to foster student-centred learning and contribute to continuous improvement in medical education.
Since its inception, four successful batches of the CHPE programme have been conducted, benefiting more than 150 medical professionals from diverse healthcare institutions. The programme has played a significant role in building educational capacity, promoting scholarly teaching practices, and developing a community of medical educators committed to excellence in healthcare education.
