The outcome bases learning is the student centered approach. In this program, the complete learning-teaching process revolves around the defined learning outcomes of the course for students for their better understanding and what they should know at the end of the course. The objective of OBE is to value “what students achieve”, rather than what teachers teach. Every lesson that any instructor designs, has a clearly defined learning objectives, learning objectives and learning outcomes.

OBE session introduces new faculty to the principles and implementation of OBE across NUST’s diverse academic landscape. It covers the core OBE terminology (Objectives, Outcomes, Performance Criteria, Assessment, Evaluation), the PEO–PLO–CLO hierarchy and its mapping, and the top-down curriculum design workflow linking stakeholder input to teaching and assessment methods. Participants will also be walked through the Continual Quality Improvement loop and the expectations of accreditation bodies, with examples applicable to engineering as well as non-engineering programmes.
